Meeting Community Health Needs in 2007

As a result of ongoing needs assessment including development of a new strategic plan, the following are objectives for CVPH Medical Center in 2007 that will enhance access to care, particularly for the underserved:

Conduct free insurance enrollment eligibility fairs throughout the year in collaboration with other service providers to assist people who do not have health insurance.

Collaborate with other providers in Clinton County to improve access for treatment for adults with mental health disorders.

Decrease the rate of hospitalization and length of stay for adult patients with diabetes by, in part, increasing participation in self-management classes.

Recruit needed physicians in the following specialties: 
    
    o Anesthesiology 
    o Cardiovascular Anesthesiology 
    o Cardiology 
    o General Surgery 
    o Orthopedic Surgery 
    o Internal Medicine 
    o Family Practice 
    o Pulmonary/Critical Care 
    o Endocrinology 
    o Rheumatology
 
Increase participation in the CVPH CARES charity program.

Support free community screenings and health education and wellness programs through the Foundation of CVPH.
