Eligibility for each program may be dependent on employment status, work schedule or other factors. The following is a brief summary of the available benefit programs available to CVPH Medical Center employees.
Health Insurance: CVPH offers health insurance plans through a variety of insurance carriers. The hospital works closely with the carriers to secure the best rates possible for its employees.
Flexible Benefit Program: The Flexible Benefit Plan is a program to help full and part time employees defray the costs of health insurance premiums, qualified medical expenses and qualifying dependent (child or elder) care expenses. This Plan includes the Total Health Care Benefit - money provided by the hospital - and additional voluntary employee contributions to use for these costs.
Life Insurance: CVPH provides Life Insurance (at 2x base compensation) and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Coverage for full and part time employees. An employee may purchase Supplemental Life Insurance through the hospital for him/herself, spouse, children and/or grandchildren.
Combined Time Off: Paid time off includes vacation, personal, sick and holiday (8 per year) leave. Available amounts and accrual rates vary by position and longevity at the hospital. Additional leave categories include Bereavement, Jury Duty and Family Medical Leave Act time.
Retirement Benefits: The hospital offers a non-contributory, defined benefit program with automatic enrollment after meeting the eligibility requirements and 100% vesting after 5 years of service. Additionally, CVPH offers a Supplemental Tax Deferred Annuity - 403(b) Program to which employees may contribute with CVPH matching the contribution up to a set limit.
Career Advancement Program: CVPH covers the full cost of tuition, books and fees for employees pursuing specific degrees (nursing and respiratory therapy, for example).
