The mission of this department of 62 employees is to provide an environment where cleanliness, sanitation, and infection control sets the standard in the northeast region, and to be recognized by other hospitals and the community as the cleanest and best maintained hospital in the northeast region. Working in Environmental Services offers entry-level workers the opportunity to gain knowledge in minor maintenance using basic hand and power tools, and introduction to building systems (heating, power, etc.), and pool maintenance as they move through the department's career advancement program.
The department is responsible for all facility cleaning, scheduling meeting rooms and setups, maintenance of the Wellness Center pools, interior design, furnishing, plant care, holiday decorations, moving, storage, and waste management. Locations that the department is responsible for include the main hospital campus, the Business Center, the CVPH Health Plaza (Ambulatory Surgery, WIC/Diagnostics, Blood Donor Center, KDU), Bayside Wellness Center, the PARC Rehab Center and the Ausable Valley Health Center.
