Planned Giving
What are Planned Gifts?
Gifts made through your will, a trust or an estate plan are examples of planned gifts. Planned gifts are important to the future of the Foundation and CVPH Medical Center.
How Does a Planned Gift help our hospital?
Your Planned Gift allows the Foundation to build its endowment and ensure a sustainable future for our community hospital and Foundation programs. While the endowment itself is not touched, the interest it earns each year funds projects and programs sponsored by the Foundation.
How would I benefit by making a Planned Gift?
The most frequent donations to the Foundation of CVPH Medical Center are outright gifts of cash or checks, which we receive right away. Sometimes friends of the Foundation wish to give a major gift, but would like to hold on to their money and other assets for now, so that they can be sure that they can meet their family's future financial obligations. Many of these friends are delighted to learn that some Planned Giving opportunities provide excellent alternatives which allow them to make a gift now and still maintain current income. Other Planned Giving options provide substantial capital gains tax or estate tax savings. The most important benefit of making a Planned Gift is the satisfaction you receive from knowing that your gift will have a lasting impact on the quality of health care provided to our community.
In most cases, planned giving donors receive one or more of these benefits :
Reduction of estate, gift and/or current income taxes
Reduction or elimination of taxes on capital gains at the time of the gift
A secure stream of income for the rest of your life
Additional income for heirs
You will also become a member of the Foundation of CVPH Medical Center Heritage Society, which is comprised of individuals who have named the Foundation of CVPH Medical Center in their will or estate plan. These members are recognized during their lifetime for their generosity.
