The unit provides restorative and or rehabilitative care to patients who will require longer than average recovery from illness or surgery. The Primary focus is on convalescing elderly. The mission is to provide clinical medical/surgical nursing, education and support in the management of elderly convalescing patients.This unit is equipped with 32 beds, 8 private and 12 semiprivate rooms. There is a patient lounge on the East wing and private dining room on the West wing. The West wing is equipped with monitored doors which emit an audio signal when exited by a monitored patient. This allows safer care of the patients on the unit with cognitive issues or dementia.
