The mission of the R7 Unit is t o provide clinical and technical nursing expertise for patients with urologic, nephrologic, and acute medical/surgical illnesses. The unit is equipped with 35 beds, which include one isolation room, fourteen private rooms, ten semi-private rooms, and one treatment room.
The unit provides holistic care using the multi-disciplinary approach for the acutely ill patient. Care is routinely provided for:
1. Patients who have undergone a surgical procedure.
2. Patients who have acute medical needs.
3. Patients with VRE infection.
4. Patients admitted with gynecological problems.
5. Patients admitted with urological problems.
6. Patients admitted requiring CAPD (excluding patients in critical care and on telemetry).
7. Patients admitted who require dialysis and are acutely ill.
