FitzPatrick Cancer Center
The FitzPatrick Cancer Center combines high tech with high touch. Many of the services patients need are located in place. |
Comprehensive cancer care is provided through the FitzPatrick Cancer Center, an American College of Surgeons approved facility. The beautiful facility has generated nothing but accolades from its patients since opening in 1990. It offers one-stop shopping with its comprehensive services while earning extremely high customer satisfaction scores because of the compassionate staff. The combination of clinical excellence and consumer services was affirmed in 1999 when the Center became the first United States hospital to contract with the Quebec Ministry of Health to provide cancer care for Quebec residents.
The FitzPatrick Cancer Center offers a full range of medical and radiation treatment options for oncology patients. Computer linkages enable patients with more unusual cancers to receive the same treatments being offered through clinical studies at major centers throughout the nation. Most cancer patients who require hospitalization are treated on the CVPH R-5 Nursing Unit. The staff there has been prepared to help meet all of their needs.
But the FitzPatrick Cancer Center is more than clinical care. A wide range of support groups and access to a psychiatrist help patients find the emotional support helpful in winning their battle with cancer. Extensive educational resources are also available to patients and their families via special computer networks, print materials, and audio and video tapes. Phone 562-7100.
