Stage 4 Forever: Living With Metastatic Disease

Jan Duus, MD, FitzPatrick Cancer Center medical oncologist is one of two featured speakers at Stage 4 Forever: Living with Metastatic Cancer, a free program planned for Saturday, April 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the West Side Ballroom,253 New York Road, Plattsburgh. This event is open to all.
Duus will be joined by Rose Colletti, PhD a staff psychologist in the Cancer Patient Center Support program and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery, Surgical Oncology, at the University of Vermont. Dr. Duus joined the CVPH Medical Staff in 2004 as a medical oncologist. He is a graduate of theUniversityofIllinoisinChicagoand completed training at Fletcher Allen Health Care inBurlington,VT. Duus is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. however an optional opportunity for chair yoga takes place at 8:15 a.m. Duus will offer Stage 4: A Doctor’s Perspective. Dr. Colletti will then offer Living with Metastatic Cancer. A panel discussion including patients, family members and nurses will take place before lunch. The Lilly Oncology on Canvas: Expressions of a Cancer Journey Art Competition and Exhibition will be available at this event. CVPH Chaplain Jessica Lowry will offer an optional meditation opportunity before the event ends.
