Open House At CVPH Wound Care Center
CVPH Wound Care Center is hosting a free open house to all who wish to stop by with questions and take a tour of the new facility. The open house will be held on Monday, April 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. at 85 Plaza Boulevard in Suite 102 in the CVPH Health Plaza next to Hannaford.
Staff at the center will begin treating patients May 1. The newest program at CVPH is part of the Healogics Network, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services. The opening of the CVPH Wound Care Center brings the community state-of-the-art treatment and protocols to treat chronic wounds including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, negative pressure therapies, bioengineered tissues and biosynthetics. Patients with pressure, diabetic, neuropathic and ischemic ulcers, venous insufficiency, traumatic or surgical wounds, vasculitis, burns and other skin irritations will benefit.
The Center employs 5 CVPH staff members including specially trained registered nurses, a hyperbaric therapy technician and support personnel. Craig Nachbauer, MD serves as Medical Director of the new service and Penny Pitts RN, BS, Director.
More than 8 million people in the U.S. suffer from chronic wounds of which healing has been impeded by such diseases and conditions as diabetes, obesity, aging and the late effects of radiation therapy.
