Accreditation

Cancer care at CVPH has always set quality as an underlying goal. Many staff members on both the R-5 Nursing Unit and FitzPatrick Cancer Center have earned national accreditation in their fields for oncology care.

The Cancer Center is accredited by the American College of Surgeons, the nationally recognized cancer-accrediting agency, as a community comprehensive cancer center. This status is reserved for only those centers that meet the rigid requirements including comprehensiveness of services, education of staff, and quality of the care provided.

The American College of Radiation Oncologists also accredits the FitzPatrick Cancer Center. The ACRO reviews practices to ascertain that facilities, staffing and treatment programs are in accordance to accepted standards of modern day radiation therapy delivered in the United States.
