The mission of the FitzPatrick Cancer Center is to be a comprehensive cancer program that provides accessible, multidisciplinary treatment and services to the Northeast Region of New York State. Staff will provide innovative cancer management through clinical research and advances in technology, and will promote community wellness through prevention, early detection and education.

The mission of the R-5 Nursing Unit, where the overwhelming majority of oncology inpatients receive care, is to promote an optimum quality of life and to provide comprehensive cancer care to its patients and their families. Staff members provide a holistic approach to the needs of its patients.
