Thank You to CVPH Employees, Families & the Community

A message from Michelle LeBeau

Our community is standing together like never before in the face of COVID-19.  I take great pride in the amazing work of the men and women at Champlain Valley Physician Hospital (CVPH) who are contributing to that effort by caring for those who are affected.

These are tough times indeed. In just a few short weeks, there has been a tremendous amount of change and disruption to both our home and work lives.  We have cancelled non-essential surgeries, procedures, diagnostics and many provider visits. We have created an exterior Emergency Department, a second ICU and have finalized plans to care for nearly 100 more inpatients.  Every department, unit, service and all of our employees have been affected by these changes.  And despite all of that, their focus remains on the care of our patients and each other – it’s a true testament to the professionalism of this team.

This frenetic pace is not likely to ease anytime soon. In fact, while much of the region has been asked to slowdown, we must move  faster and faster.  Our team is a great one. We’re an organization filled with the best and the brightest who are focused, dedicated and committed to caring for our community. We are blessed to have them. I am lucky to lead them.

I want the spouses, partners, children, families and loved ones of each CVPH employee to know how thankful I am for their talent and commitment - and your support. While those you love dearest leave the safety of home every day, you’re left behind to tend to everything else.  Each individual contribution to our mission could not happen without you.

Thank you too to the community and to everyone who has offered words of encouragement and support, donated needed items or treated us to a meal. This show of support and appreciation are truly meaningful, make our hearts smile and have helped get us through some tough days.

Finally, thank you to all who are staying home, practicing social distancing, washing your hands often and helping to slow the spread of the virus. Know that when you use these tools, you are making a difference, you are protecting us and you are reducing the impact on our community.  Together, I know we’ll overcome what lies ahead and will be stronger because of it.

Stay home. Stay safe. Stay strong.
