Sometimes new moms need help and guidance as they begin breastfeeding their babies. In other instances, problems may arise after breastfeeding has been established. The CVPH Lactation Program focuses on moms who experience breastfeeding difficulties after leaving the hospital.
Our Lactation Program provides assistance and support while helping you reach your breastfeeding goals. The program offers evidence-based quality lactation education while improving and maintaining the health status of you and your baby through nutrition management during your breastfeeding experience.
Our Lactation Program is staffed by International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) with advanced training in breastfeeding management. All lactation consultants are experienced in counseling, teaching and problem solving with latching or other breastfeeding issues such as:
- Poor latch
- Painful breastfeeding
- Poor weight gain
- Insufficient milk supply
- Cleft palate, Down’s Syndrome or other special needs
You may self-refer or be referred by your obstetrician or the baby’s pediatrician.
We ask that stop in Patient Registration and register before your visit. Please have your insurance card with you as some
