Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital is part of an elite group of health care facilities that offers the da Vinci Surgical System, a sophisticated robotic platform designed to enable complex surgery using a minimally invasive approach. At CVPH, the da Vinci Surgical System is used by members of the medical staff specializing in urology, gynecology and general surgery.
The da Vinci Surgical System is powered by state-of-the-art robotic technology. It allows your surgeon's hand movements to be scaled, filtered and translated into precise movements of micro-instruments within the operative site. The da Vinci System enhances surgical capabilities by enabling the performance of complex surgeries through tiny surgical openings. The system cannot be programmed nor can it make decisions on its own. The da Vinci System requires that every surgical maneuver be performed with direct input from your surgeon.
A da Vinci procedure can offer you all the potential benefits of a minimally invasive procedure, including less pain, less blood loss and less need for blood transfusions. Moreover, the da Vinci System can enable a shorter hospital stay, a quicker recovery and faster return to normal daily activities. Not everyone will benefit from robotic surgery.
