CVPH Opens New Skilled Nursing & Sub-Acute Facility
PLATTSBURGH, NY (07/09/2018) - Residents of the University of Vermont Health Network – Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH) Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) will unveil their new home on Wednesday, July 11 with an Open House and Ribbon Cutting. The event begins at 2:30 p.m. in the new SNF located on 5th floor of the hospital’s main building. Tours of the new facility will take place every 30 minutes from 3 to 7 p.m.
It features 30 private rooms and 2 semi private rooms. In addition to providing skilled nursing care, it is also equipped to care for patients in need of sub-acute or short-term rehabilitation.
CVPH’s new Skilled Nursing Facility includes larger common areas and new lounge space. There is also a kitchen/dining area featuring a steam buffet, a Dental Suite, Beauty Shop and laundry facility. Twenty six residents currently call the CVPH Skilled Nursing Facility home.
“This new facility offers our residents a warm, safe and comfortable space to live,” said Bradley Heller, SNF Administrator. Heller added that rehab patients will benefit from the expertise of the nursing and on-site rehabilitation staff. “We work as a team to tailor each patient’s treatment plan to their specific needs. Our focus is to help them achieve their goal of returning to independent living,” he explained.
Physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers, dieticians, and physical/occupational/speech therapists collaborate with a compassionate, professional nursing staff to offer the highest quality of life possible for residents.
SNF’s location within CVPH allows residents to benefit from all the services offered by the hospital. The new facility provides not only a calm, comfortable atmosphere for residents but a supportive environment for the care team. “Our team takes great pride in the exceptional care of our residents and patients. We see them as family - It’s a privilege to care for them. I believe this new facility enhances our employee’s experience as well as the residents,” explained Dawn Ryan Glaude, RN, SNF Director of Nursing.
