CVPH Offers Diabetes Self-Management Program
4 week program offers education, support for those with Type 2 Diabetes

PLATTSBURGH, NY (10/01/2018) – The University of Vermont Health Network – Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH) Diabetes Self-Management Class begins Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 5:30 p.m. in the Miner Medical Arts Building, 302B Conference Room (third floor). The Miner Medical Arts Building is located on CVPH’s main.  The class will meet for 3 hours each Tuesday evening until November 13. 

This program can help those with Type 2 diabetes learn to manage their disease. There are an estimated 27 million Americans with Type 2 Diabetes. Managing the disease includes lifestyle changes, adjustments to diet and exercise and sometimes, medication. Instructors Catherine LaPier, RN and Ann Watts, RN, CDE will present information about those topics in addition to goal setting, low and high blood sugars and minimizing and avoiding complications.
