Kick Off the New Year By Giving Blood - Adirondack Regional Blood Center Drive Plans Community Blood Drives


Partnering with several businesses, agencies and communities groups, the Adirondack Regional Blood Center, a program of the University of Vermont Health Network – Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH), is conducting several blood drives open to the community this month.

  • Thursday, January 2, Lowes, Plattsburgh 1 to 4 p.m.

  • Monday, January 6, Riley Ford, Noon to 3 p.m.

  • Tuesday, January 7, Brushton-Moira American Legion, 4 to 7 p.m.

  • Wednesday, January 8, NYS Police Barracks, Plattsburgh, 7 to 11 a.m.

  • Thursday, January 9, Northern Insuring Agency, Plattsburgh, 9 a.m. to Noon

  • Thursday, January 9, Momot Trailer Sales, 60 Trade Rd., Plattsburgh, 1 to 3 p.m.

  • Monday, January 13, District 3 Fire Department Wallace Hill Road, 4 to 7 p.m.

  • Tuesday, January 14, Malone Callfireman Station, 2 to 6 p.m.

  • Wednesday, January 15, Beekmantown High School, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • Monday, January 20, Essex Fire Department, co-sponsor Masonic Lodge, 4 to 7 p.m.

Walk-ins are always welcome at The Donor Center, located at 85 Plaza Blvd. Regular hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Blood collected by the Adirondack Regional Blood Center stays in the North Country, helping hundreds of people in this region at hospitals in Elizabethtown, Plattsburgh, Malone, Massena, Saranac Lake and Glens Falls. Its success rests on the generosity of donors and sponsors. 

To be eligible to donate blood, a person must be in good health and at least 17 years of age. The minimum weight requirement is 110 lbs. All donors must pass a physical and health history exam conducted at the drive prior to donation. A valid ID is required. Whole blood can be donated once every eight weeks (56 days).
