Cooking with Doc Program Takes Place Thursday, February 20 -Local physicians offer cooking instruction to families

Learn how to cook easy and nutritious meals the whole family will love at Cook with a Doc planned for Thursday, February 20 at 5:30 p.m. The two-hour free program will be held in MHAB, 14 Dormitory Drive.

Everything needed for the meal preparation will be provided. The cooking instruction will be offered by David Beguin, MD of Plattsburgh Primary Care or Therese Ray, MD of the Family Medicine Residency.

Thursday’s session is one of four co-sponsored by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Clinton County, CVPH Family Medicine Residency and Plattsburgh Primary Care to help families learn how to prepare meals that are both nutritious and tasty. Studies show that knowing how to cook can improve nutrition and children who help with meal preparation can have better eating habits as adults.

Two more sessions are planned; one Friday, March 20 and the final program on Thursday, April 16. Reservations are required as space is limited. Children are not only welcomed but encouraged to attend and participate. Please call Jordy at Cornell Cooperative Extension at (518) 561-7450 to register or follow this link:  https://reg.cce.cornell.edu/CookingInTheCommunity-2_209
