CVPH School of Radiologic Technology Accredited - Designation points to quality education offered by local program

The University of Vermont Health Network – Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH) School of Radiologic Technology has been accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) through January, 2025.

Accreditation is a voluntary, external peer-review to ensure that the education provided by the institution meets acceptable levels of quality.

The CVPH School of Radiology offers a 2 year program that combines class time and practical experience to train radiographers in delivering exceptional patient care. In addition to being prepared for a rewarding health care career, graduates also earn an associates’ degree from Empire State College in math, science, and technology.

Program Director Betsy Lombard said the school takes great pride in the high quality educational experience it provides students. “The clinical experience we offer, thanks to the efforts of the CVPH Radiology Department and physicians and our excellent teachers truly prepare our graduates for their chosen career,” she said.

Established in 1965, the school is approved by the New York State Department of Health to train radiographers in addition to being accredited by JRCERT.

JRCERT promotes excellence in education and evaluates quality and safety in radiography, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance, and medical dosimetry educational programs. It is the only agency recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) for the accreditation of traditional and distance delivery educational programs in radiography, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance, and medical dosimetry. It’s also recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
