Foundation of CVPH Hosting Annual Summer Fundraiser In Person

The Foundation of Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH) is taking guests to “The City of Lights” without needing to cross the Atlantic Ocean. Folks are invited to join The Foundation under the tent on the US Oval on Saturday, June 11 at 5 p.m. for Un, deux, trois – Paris.

The chic fundraiser is The Foundation’s largest of the year and is well-known for its intricate décor and fun themes. This year’s event features live music by Hang Tight, dinner catered by Catering By Dale Events, bar and appetizers by Latitude44, a raffle and a wine pull. Guests are encouraged to wear their dancing shoes, just not heels – as the event takes place on grass.

Also part of the event is a virtual silent auction that kicks off Wednesday, June 8 and ends on Saturday, June 11 at 8 p.m. Guests may bid on items during the fundraiser on their smartphones or on iPads provided at the event. Bidders do not have to attend in order to win an item in the online auction. To participate, visit: https://www.cvph.org/Foundation/Oh-La-La-Paris. There will also be a live auction for those in attendance featuring several additional items. Among some of the fabulous items up for bid in the live and virtual auctions thanks to our generous community members:

  • A beautiful painting from local artist Bill Crosby valued at $2,000.
  • A creatively crafted wooden table with the iconic Eiffel Tower from The Living Edge valued at $160.
  • Diamond necklace valued at $1,000 and diamond earrings valued at $500 from Perrywinkles Fine Jewelry.

During the event, The Foundation will celebrate Denise Calkins Ryder as this year’s recipient of the Larry W. Jeffords Legacy Award. Calkins Ryder has been a selfless contributor to The Foundation for years, served as a board member for a decade, continues to volunteer her time at Foundation events and impacts countless lives each year through her ongoing committee work, including the Wish Fund, Scholarship Review and the annual Healthy Community Campaign.

“Time and again, Denise introduces people to the meaningful work The Foundation does and shares the impact that a gift can have, inspiring others to join in giving,” CVPH Associate Vice President of Philanthropy Kerry Haley, CFRE offered. “As one of our biggest cheerleaders, she shares this information with her whole heart and the passion she has for The Foundation’s mission comes shining through. We are truly grateful to honor Denise in this special way.”

Money raised from the auction will go toward a number of programs that benefit CVPH patients, employees and the community. Previously, the summer fundraiser has funded the purchase of an ultrasound machine that assists in the placement of IVs in hundreds of our patients each year, avoiding multiple sticks and providing a better experience for those in our care.

Funds also supported the purchase of exercise equipment to help isolated COVID-19 patients in the hospital maintain function and endurance and regain strength before going home. And the event helps The Foundation invest in future health care workers in our region, providing scholarships to local students pursuing careers in the industry, including some who ultimately land a job at the hospital.

Tickets are still available for the event and cost $125. Anyone with questions or interested in purchasing tickets can contact The Foundation of CVPH Events & Special Projects Manager Michelle Senecal at (518) 314-3359 or email her: msenecal@cvph.org.
