When someone finds out they need surgery, they naturally have many questions and may feel anxious.

It’s really important to me that patients understand what’s happening to them. I try to meet them where their knowledge base is and explain what is happening so they’re well-informed and can be a partner in their care.

Before embarking on my medical career, I worked as a laboratory technician with the NYS Department of Health for many years as an analytical chemist and as an adjunct professor at Clinton Community College and SUNY Plattsburgh.

I spent a decade as an Acute Care Surgeon at Albany Med Health System in Albany, New York, where I also earned my medical degree and completed my residency.

I’ve always considered the North Country, where my family has kept a home since the early 1990s, as my home. I’m an avid hiker and kayaker with an abiding love for the Adirondacks.
