2019 Junior Volunteer Program
High school students get a first-hand look at healthcare while simultaneously giving back to their community.
The 2019 Junior Volunteer Program
Each year the Junior Volunteer Program offers an opportunity for the youth of our community to get a firsthand look at healthcare while giving back to their community. Our program offers an in-depth, behind the scenes look at healthcare, while providing an opportunity for the students to give back to their community. Juniors enroll in our three-week session program. Junior Volunteers descend upon the UVMHN-CVPH campus where they receive a first-hand look at all our facility has to offer. You will have opportunities to meet and observe many professionals in action. If you are particularly interested in a career in health care, you will see first-hand what it takes to make it in this environment. Who knows, you may even decide this is the career field for you!
The session takes place July 8th through July 26th and will include a one week orientation with presentations and demonstrations from various departments. The remaining two weeks will be spent volunteering in these departments.
All application forms must be received bt Friday, May 24, 2019 and are completed online. Applicants will be contacted to schedule group interviews, which are approx. 30-45 minutes long and will take place during the dates of June 3-June 5.
There are several steps to becoming a Junior Volunteer! These include:
1 Complete an application online
2 Have a consent form signed by a parent or guardian
3 Schedule an interview with our Manager of Volunteer Services
4 Provide a copy of your immunization records
5 Have a TB skin test administered by CVPH (this is no cost to you and occurs during the orientation)
6 Fill out EMR consent form for the Center for Occupational Health & Wellness.
