CVPH Pet Therapy Open House Planned For Dec. 10
The CVPH Pet Therapy Program is conducting an open house Tuesday, Dec. 10 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Medical Center’s main lobby.
Certified pet therapy dogs and their humans will be on hand to discuss the program and its benefits. Members of the Clinton County Canine Club will distribute certification information.
Because Pet therapy is now offered regularly at CVPH, more certified dogs are needed to meet the growing popularity of the program. Upon request, certified dogs and their humans visit patients on several nursing units. Pet Therapy can improve the physical, social, emotional and/or cognitive functioning of patients in the hospital. Sessions can help facilitate healing and rehabilitation as well as reduce stress and anxiety.
The open house is free and open to all humans. Please, no dogs. For more information, contact Manager of Community Outreach Molly Ryan at 562-7595.
