Skilled Nursing

The Skilled Nursing Facility at CVPH is home to 70 residents. A total of 54 reside on 6 Main with an additional 16 located on R4. Accommodations include 50 private rooms, two dining rooms, a large activity room and a smaller activity room, and a laundry. Both living areas are equipped with auditory alarms to provide a safe environment for ambulatory residents who might wander.

The mission of staff members is to provide the highest practical level of care and services to meet residents' needs by providing innovative interdisciplinary programs. They also strive to integrate the Skilled Nursing Facility into the overall services of the Medical Center and the activities of the community.

Visiting hours are from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Special arrangements are made on an individual basis and as situations warrant.

All residents benefit from multidisciplinary care plans that are updated routinely. Residents are also encouraged to eat in the communal dining room, participate in activities and dress in their personal clothing. However, individual preferences are honored.

Values on the Skilled Nursing Facility include:

  • The dignity and worth of the individual as unique in our provision of safe, compassionate and cooperative service.
  • The rights and the developmental potential of the resident, realized in an atmosphere of trust, respect and challenge.
  • The expertise of various disciplines in providing for a homelike environment that enhances the resident's quality of life.
  • The prudent use of all resources.

The CVPH Skilled Nursing Facility is licensed by the New York State Department of Health and accredited by the Joint Commission.
