Women's Imaging Center
Mammography is a woman's best defense in the fight against breast cancer. Coupled with regular breast self exams, mammography can help detect breast cancer in its earliest stages when its easiest to treat. The American Cancer Society recommends that women age 40 and older get a mammogram and a clinical breast exam each year. Women with a family history of breast cancer or other health risks should speak to their physician about mammography screening.
Caring, professional staff, a warm, friendly environment and state-of-the-art digital mammography technology are what makes the Women's Imaging Center a unique place. Located at 89 Plaza Boulevard in the CVPH Health Plaza, WIC provides magnification studies, ultrasounds of the breast, needle aspirations and ultrasound-guided core biopsies. Education plays an import role in the service, too. Materials and resources are available to women who want to learn more about breast health.
The Women's Imaging Center is open seven days a week and for patient convenience, offers evening hours too. Call 562-1055 for appointments.
